It’s no secret that you can eat some of the best food in the world in New York. From $1 pizza slices to gourmet dishes at renowned Michelin-starred restaurants, the Big Apple offers meals for all budgets in every corner. There is, however, a common misconception that better meals equal higher prices. As bizarre as it might sound, you don’t necessarily have to spend most of your budget to eat well in New York.
That’s right, you can find food markets in NYC filled with stall after stall of tasty meals. Not only do you get to sample great food from a variety of cuisines, this actually comes at the fraction of a price of a restaurant! Sounds good, right? Here’s a selection of some of the best food markets in New York City to grab a bite to eat. You (and your bank account) can thank me later.

Sometimes all you need is pancakes. The good ole fluffy, delicious and mouth-watering kind. When it comes to pancakes, America does it best. New York surprised me with Bubby’s stand out Banana and Nut Pancakes, a shoutout to the origins of authentic American cuisine with a modern touch which, to be completely honest, I thought would never be matched anywhere outside the US. Boy, was I wrong.
Some weeks ago, Sam and I spent a weekend exploring the wonderful city of Liverpool. As per usual during our travels, brunch had to happen at some point. Before we knew it, we found ourselves queuing to get inside Moose Coffee. Despite having no idea what to expect, we’d heard this cute diner was one of the best places in Liverpool to enjoy a Sunday brunch date. And OMG, if Tom Hardy and I have something in common (!!!) it’s that we were both blown away by Moose’s incredibly delicious American-style menu.

Autumn calls for warm cakes and hot cups of tea. And I cannot tell you how ready I am for it! I finally have an excuse to take my jumpers and oversized scarfs out of the bottom of my wardrobe. Truth is, even though I enjoyed the superb sunny weather we’ve had in the UK for the last couple of months, I must admit I certainly missed the cool breeze and autumnal crisp air. And of course the crunchy leaves, pumpkin spice lattes, nice smelling candles and warm comfort food!
Halloween may be around the corner but there is nothing scary about this cake. Following Sam’s mum’s award-winning recipe, I recently treated myself to a super easy to bake lemon drizzle cake. This light and effortless recipe is incredibly easy to follow, requires only a handful of ingredients and serves up to 10 slices. Served either warm or at room temperature, it’s moist, rich in taste and perfect to have with a hot cuppa. You can thank me later…

Cannes – the city of stars, glamour and luxury tourism. Along with the likes of Saint-Tropez, Nice and Monaco, Cannes is a favourite jet set for those looking for a holiday à la mode. Yachts, luxury cars, haute couture shops and private white-sand beaches contribute to the savoir-faire that is so characteristic of the elegant resorts of the South of France.
But there’s so much more behind the yachts and celebrity spotting. Cannes has that je ne sais quoi of a Mediterranean fishing village past that can still be felt in the historic streets. I thought I’d include a list of my favourite places in Cannes that don’t necessarily have to do with the luxurious and often out-of-budget character of the area. Let’s get ready and explore this charming French city, shall we?

Do you like chocolate brownies? Let me rephrase that, who doesn’t love brownies? I know, I know, there are some people out there that are not particularly fond of chocolatey treats. Luckily, I am not one of them and when it comes to brownies, I just can’t say no. They are not precisely the lightest of bites, but hey! Think about it as your reward for eating clean throughout the whole week.
As an avid sweet treat lover and a big fan of Sam’s sister’s mouth-watering brownies, I thought I’d share the following recipe with you, which she is a pro at. This is such an easy dessert to make and this gooey chocolate brownie recipe serves 12 chunky brownies, perfect for sharing them with loved ones and friends (if you don’t end up eating them all in one go, like we nearly did).

Welcome to Lisbon, the gorgeous city built on seven hills! There are many ways I could describe Lisbon. It’s bohemian, yet it screams romanticism all over. Lively and spirited in nature, yet life seems to go calm and undisturbed. It’s Baroque, Gothic, Romanesque…all at once! There’s always something spectacular to marvel at in Lisbon and its magic and charm seem to have persisted throughout the years. Every corner, colourful building and cobbled street hide unpredictable surprises. I’d be lying if I said that Lisbon isn’t one of my favourite dots on the map.
As you can see, Lisboa is a very special place. Of course, I couldn’t resist encapsulating everything we love about the city of Fado in a travel guide. Grab a cuppa, sit down and get comfy, this is going to be a lovely long one…

London’s architectural diversity has always fascinated me. The more I walk these old streets and get to know the city, the more I realise how differently shaped the British capital is. Throughout history, London has faced the need to rebuild from scratch after several catastrophic destructions and the transformation brought by the economic and social evolution. The Great Fire of 1666, historical wars and the Industrial Revolution, to name a few, have defined London’s skyline. As a result, a mix of architectural styles have become inextricably intertwined. You can see buildings ranging from historical architectural styles (Victorian, Baroque, Edwardian) to innovative modern buildings (Brutalist, Skyscrapers). All in the same place!
Now, what if I told you, you can admire London’s most iconic buildings, parks and the River Thames from above? And even better, that you can do so for FREE? Our latest adventure took us to the top of 20 Fenchurch St. where the magnificent Sky Garden rewarded us with the most incredible views over the city.
